KFAR KASEM - ISRAEL
HISTORY: This is an optimistic story about a journey, initiative, and hope that Catchball is much more than a ball game. On Wednesday, 26th of April, on Israeli Indepedence Day, a Catchball team of eight Muslim players from the city of Kfarm Kasem will be accompanied by Hila Yeshayahu, a Jewess from Kibbutz Einat who has been working a lot in recent years to promote Catchball in Israel and around the world. In recent years Hila has recruited representatives from 21 countries to establish a local network association, including countries such as Morocco, Gambia, Chad, Brazil United Arab Emirates and even Pakistan.
GAMES: Four years ago, Hila was a partner in establishing the team in Kfar Kasem. She was their coach as volunteer in the founding year. After several years in which the players participate in the Rosh Ha'Ein league, Hila offered them the opportunity to participate in the Balkan Cup, in Soufli in Greece. And the players surprised her when the next day they returned with a positive answer and bought the plane tickets. Thank you for having Kfar Kasem team in our Balkan Cup!
